The Vancouver Branch of the Surface Design Association invites the community to enjoy a diverse range of fiber-based art at Aurora Gallery this April with an opening reception from 5-9 on April 3. Members showing their work include Mary Arnold, Bonnie Bucknam, Maris Cavanagh, Donna Joslyn, Sally Sellers, Sharon Svec, Karen Turner and Marie Murphy Wolfe. The Vancouver Branch formed in 2016 and has been meeting bi-monthly ever since to share, inspire and grow an appreciation for surface design and textiles. This will be the premiere exhibition of their works.

Surface Design Classes with Christina Fairley Erickson
Join Christina Fairley Erickson’s Lab Classes at LWTech in Kirkland, WA. In Surface Design Lab, explore different methods to decorate fabrics for your personal projects:
Hand Embroidery, Freehand Machine Embroidery, Felting, Fabric Collage, Dyeing, Textile Inks, Beading, and More. Learn methods to embellish, embroider, and enrich fabrics. This lab allows students to try different surface design methods with expert guidance. Work on projects of your own choice and at your own pace. Experiment with different materials and techniques.
In the Repair & Upcycle Class, Christina will bring her unique experience, lots of samples for inspiration and demonstrations of various surface design techniques.
