Call for Entry – Nacify Fiber Art Show

This show will be held at the private practice of Nacify Plastic Surgery Center in Bellevue, WA.  They have a lovely office with large walls to hang the artwork and a small area where a 3D piece can be displayed.  They regularly invite Northwest artists to exhibit in their offices, for the viewing pleasure of their clientele and have had a good ratio of sales for the artists.  They will display the artwork; any sales will be the artist’s responsibility (NO commission will be charged; artist is responsible for any sales tax, etc.)  You can see some of the spaces on their website virtual tour at: http://www.seattleface.com/html/virtual_tour.php

There will NOT be an opening, as this is a private office space.

"Babbling" by Patricia Belyea

“Babbling” by Patricia Belyea

SDA members are meeting at the home of Patricia Belyea, owner of Okan Arts.  Patricia imports and sells vintage hand-dyed Japanese yukata cottons. Right now she has the largest inventory in North America with approximately 470 bolts.

We’ll start in her quilting studio which is a transformed formal dining room and spend time talking about what’s up on the design walls.  Then we’ll head downstairs to her yukata cotton ya (“shop” in Japanese) and classroom. We’ll check out the various pattern styles of yukata cottons as well as talk about yukatas in Japanese culture and the chusen printing process.
