1 — Local members who attended the SDA conference in San Antonio in early June will share their learnings and inspiration from the speakers, gallery tours, and workshops.

2 — Using Adobe Lightroom, Photographer Craig Rowley will give a demo on “Evaluating Art Color and Tone Digitally”.  Let’s see how the impact of visual art changes as we vary both its tonal (e.g. dynamic range, black point, white point, exposure, contrast) and color (e.g. saturation, color contrast) characteristics in real time.  Please send some sample images of your own work for use or any other art image that you might find interesting to him by clicking HERE.   (Note:  this will not be a tutorial on Lightroom or Photoshop.)

3 — Please bring any recent work or inspiration to share as well as any ideas for future programs.

“Salsa!” Exhibit Spices Up Eastern Washington!

Members of the Contemporary QuiltArt Association, including many WA SDA members, opened their juried show “Salsa!” in Tieton WA on Memorial day weekend. The exhibition includes art cloth, quilt art, and several sculptural fiber pieces. The Mighty Tieton Warehouse Gallery is located at 608 Wisconsin Ave, Tieton, WA (about 15 miles from Yakima) and is open Fri-Sun between 12-3 pm. The show will be running through July 14. As part of the festivities, there are several outdoor textile installations, and two upcoming “monster felting” parties on June 29 and July 14 with master felt artist, Janice Arnold.
