Michael Cepress on the Role of Fashion in Surface Design

SDA- Washington is thrilled to have Michael Cepress present what is happening at the cross section of fashion and surface design at the upcoming Surface Matters Symposium.

In his talk entitled, Fashion Forward? Where we going and how we are getting there,  Michael will give us an artist presentation about the role of fashion in surface design and how artists are handling the changing aesthetic, creative and industry climates to move forward into the future.

Holding a BA in Art from the University of Wisconsin and an MFA in Fibers from the University of Washington, Cepress has worked as a designer and educator for over 10 years. His work travels internationally with features in the New York Times, FiberArts, Seattle Magazine, and books on the subject of Wearable Art.  For more about Michael, go to his webpage.
